Needles: Pair of size 7 (4.5 mm)
Yarn: A few yards each red, white and blue
One safety pin

Gauge: 4.5 sts = 1"

With red, CO 27 sts. With red, knit 1 row. With white, knit 2 rows. With blue, knit 1 row. BO purlwise with blue keeping tension firm. This will cause the band to curl naturally inward on the blue row.

Weave in all ends. Cross over as shown in image above and tack in place where edges meet at center. Use safety pin to attach to lapel.
