Size: Women's average
Finished circumference: 18"
Materials: 2 skeins Regia 6 ply Crazy Color yarn
Size US 3-4 needles, or size to obtain gauge, 16" circular and dpn's

Check out the DGB Confetti yarn colors as a substitute.

Gauge: 7 stitches per inch

Instructions: With circular needles, cast on 120 sts. Do k1, p1 ribbing for ¾" inch, or longer if you prefer ribbing that folds up.
Switch to stockinette st (knit every row) and knit for 8" or 1" less than desired length of cap.
Begin decrease rows-
R1 - * k1,k2 tog * repeat between
R2 - knit even
R3 - * k2,k2 tog *
R4 - knit even
R5 - * k1,k2 tog *
R6 - knit even (at this point, you may find it easier to switch to dpn's)
R7 - * k2 tog *

Finishing: Break off yarn leaving an 8" tail.
Finish by threading the tail through all remaining sts and drawing up close.
Finish off top of hat, if desired, with pom-pons or braided tassels.
